We went camping this last weekend with my family at Panther Creek Campground. We drove in and settled into a site that ended up being perfect, but that was not available to reserve online.
The campground is fairly rustic, with pit toilets that are maybe a 7 minute walk at the farthest. Water is available from a hand pump (so bring a friend!). Most tent pads are pretty small but some of the double sites worked for larger tents. Most of the sites are really shady and the trees make it seem not too packed in. There is minimal creek access that is good for little kids but we drove north on Panther Creek Road and hiked through the forest to a nice rocky spot on Panther Creek after the road crosses over it.
Perhaps in the future we can reserve a site there by phone. In any case, the kids both did amazingly well with the fluid schedule and lack of toys and Papa and I even got a few relaxing minutes to ourselves!
